PRESIDENT:
Preside over all FBLA/DECA meetings and events, actively engaging with chapter members and the community. The position of President necessitates dedication and accountability, since the officer team may look to you in times of crisis. Has the responsibility of guiding the organization and its officers, ensuring that the work program is developed and followed, and serving as a source of innovation to make new and beneficial modifications to the organization's operations. The president shall serve as a liaison between the district, state, and national levels, providing Sun Prairie West FBLA/DECA with the most current resources and information. High communication and organizing abilities are required.
EXECUTIVE VICE PRESIDENT:
Assist the President in managing all FBLA/DECA operations, ensuring the smooth execution of events and initiatives. The Executive Vice President takes on a leadership role in the President's absence, presiding over meetings and guiding the officer team. This position involves holding all officers accountable for their responsibilities and supporting the development of chapter goals. Additionally, the Executive Vice President plays a key role in creating and organizing agendas for chapter and member meetings, fostering clear communication and effective collaboration across the organization. Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills are essential.
DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMS:
The Director of Programs is in charge of connecting members with national and state awards and opportunities, as well as keeping them up to date on key milestones and recognitions. This position includes organizing and directing competitive event study sessions, managing resources for competition preparation, and recruiting members to attend events. The Director also controls awards including Member of the Month and nominations for state-level distinctions such as Outstanding Chapter, Member, and Adviser. They are also in charge of creating the chapter's itinerary for all FBLA and DECA excursions, coordinating logistics, and guaranteeing a seamless implementation. Successful performance in this capacity requires strong organizational and communication abilities.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS:
The Director of Communications is in charge of organizing guest speaker engagements, and field trips and preparing news releases to promote chapter activities. This position entails managing community connections and sponsorships while also cultivating relationships that support chapter activities. The Director also assists in promoting chapter events by generating promotional materials and coordinating communication with parents and students to keep them up to date on forthcoming activities. They also handle the FBLA/DECA monthly newsletter, making sure it's useful and engaging for all members. This role requires strong communication, organizational, and creative skills.
TREASURER:
The Treasurer plans and organizes fundraising events, coordinating volunteers to ensure their success. This function includes managing sponsorships and developing a sponsorship prospectus to attract new partners. In addition, the Treasurer is responsible for applying for grants to secure money for the chapter and managing the chapter's finances, including keeping financial records up to-date and transparent. Strong organizational and financial management abilities are required to flourish in this profession.
DIRECTOR OF COMMUNITY SERVICE:
The Director of Community Service coordinates volunteers for community events and assures chapter involvement in meaningful service initiatives. This position includes publicizing and recruiting members for forthcoming volunteer opportunities during meetings and directing community service efforts. The Director is also in charge of class representatives, organizing team-building activities, and coordinating chapter recruitment efforts. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
SECRETARY:
The Secretary is responsible for submitting Champion Chapter activity and keeping the chapter on track with mandatory submissions. This duty includes generating slideshows for chapter meetings, taking detailed meeting minutes for officer meetings, and keeping task lists up to date. The Secretary is also in charge of parliamentary procedures and, if required, the expulsion of officers. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and understanding of chapter protocols are required for this position.
MEDIA DIRECTOR:
The Media Director is in charge of developing all promotional materials for FBLA and DECA, ensuring that events and programs are adequately publicized. This position entails managing the chapter's social media presence and communicating with members and the community online. In addition, the Media Director organizes social media takeovers for field excursions, allowing participants to share their experiences in real-time. This role requires strong design, communication, and social media management skills.
